American Autowire, 
'65 Mustang dash disassembly 

We start the installation of the American Autowire Factory Fit harness off with a review of the features and benefits of the kit. The kit comes complete with everything you need to install the harness short of the one wire alternator. We also show how to remove the lock set from the ignition of a ’65-’68 Ford product as well as how to take the light switch out and safely remove the old harness.

American Autowire Installation '65 Mustang 
Part 1 

This week we look at the best ways to install the American Autowire harness in a classic Mustang. From wire wrapping tips to removing the wiper arm bracket to ease the installation of the harness  to routing the wires into the engine bay Jeff and Vinnie take on the task of making the ’65 Mustang’s harness better than new.

Classic Instruments SkyDrive, '65 '66 Mustang Instrument panel build 

This week we fix a problem that has been slowing us up on the 1964 Falcon hardtop, namely a good way to run the custom Classic Instruments gauges that we have. With the S10 Tail shaft housing and the speedometer hole seemingly strategically in the way the SkyDrive is a cool way around the problem of knowing just how fast we’re going.  We also assemble the 1965 Mustang gauge cluster and give tips on a clean and neat install.

American Autowire Final and Alternator one wire Conversion 

This week we cover some details on the installation of our Classic Instruments gauges and our American Autowire Factory Fit harness. We cover the Vehicle Speed Sensor wiring that is included with the kit as well as what you’ll need from Classic Instruments to complete your gauge install if you don’t have a cool American Autowire harness. We also give a less expensive alternative to buying a brand new one-wire alternator via a National Parts Depot  conversion kit that is easy to install. We also deal with making detail changes to the harness to suit our needs.

Part 1 Refinish and Dye Muscle Car & Classic Car Door Panels

This week we show how to remove the old vinyl for re-use on new backer board. We also show how to repair and refurbish the door panels on your classic car if there are no reproduction panels available. We show how to template using cardboard, set up using White Panel Board, and offer tips a tricks to make the panel look its best.

Part 2 Rebuilding Muscle Car & Classic Car Door Panels 

After removing and beginning the door panel recovery process by removing the old (and to be reused) vinyl and starting the cutting process, this week we begin the reassembly of our Fairlane door panels. We’ll give tips on using router bits on a high speed cut off tool, how to set up panels for gluing, and what glue to use for best adhesion.  We also cover some things we have discovered while moving forward on the American Autowire install.

Part 3 Dyeing Door Panels and dash pads

This week we look at dyeing door panels and dash pads using the SEM line of vinyl prep and dyeing products. We’ll also discuss the difference between urethane parts and original vinyl and why you should stay away from dyeing urethane when restoring the interior of your classic or muscle car.

Adding Dakota Digital Day Night Temp Compass Mirror 

This week we discover that you can’t do something without doing something else! With the headliner in the wagon falling apart and the windshield covered in small scratches, Jeff decides to attack the problem by installing a Dakota Digital Auto Day Night Temperature and Compass mirror. Vinnie gives tips on hunting for the best 12 volt pick up sources.

Map light, Dome light, Glue in Windshield Removal 

We install a Ford Dome light & map light combination on our resident “Work Wagon” the 1969 Fairlane Station Wagon . We show how to wire the light and install it. We also begin the removal of the glue in windshield on this car and give tips for getting the glass out.
